HISTORY OF gTUMO

gTumo is “scared fire” which is an isoteric lesson, the Dalai Lama and the mystics of the lamas in Tibet. From long time ago until the end of the 20th century gTumo was a very secret lesson. gTumo comes from the Tibetan language, which means the Energy of Sacred Fire. Before reaching Tibet this knowledge was known in India by the name of Candali.

Candali was brought to Tibet by GM Marpa, a disciple from Naropa who was the legendary heir of Tilopa. According to one of my gTumo Exoteric teachers, this technique came from Supreme Master Atisha. Atisha himself studied with the Supreme Master Dharmakirti Svarnadvipi, who was a great teacher in the kingdom of Srivijaya, an ancient kingdom whose territory covered almost the entire Indonesian homeland. Some gTumo teachers say that this technique is an adoption of the fire blow technique which is a powerful martial art. In the hands of the Supreme Masters later, this technique turned into more useful gTumo.

The work of gTumo is related to Kundalini which is related to the Heat Power known in the Nath tradition called Rajas or Surya, in Buddhist Tantra known as the Red Bodhicitta or also called Candali which in Tibetan Sanskrit is called gTumo.
